When booking a room we normally ask for a deposit of approx. 1/3 of the total booking.  If a room has been cancelled and then re-booked, we ask for a further deposit of approx. 1/3, making a total deposit of approx.2/3 of the total booking. If done by phone or email, this is best done by credit/debit card of which we take all major cards, except AM EX.  The information we need is:  the main number (usually sixteen digits long,) the expiry date, the issue number (if it has one) and the last three digits of the security code on the back.  We are able to take deposits by cheque, via post, but these have to be done more than a week before the arrival date.  This is because we have to get the cheque through the post, in the first place, then it takes several days to be processed by the bank.  So we’re unable to accept cheques at the last moment. Then we’ll make your booking and send you a confirmation by return of email or post.  However, it should be noted that a booking is only made when you receive a confirmation of booking from us .  The fact that you make have sent off a letter or an email doesn’t mean a booking has been made.

 

During the summer we normally take bookings over a weekend for a minimum of two nights, from Thursday night to Sunday night.  In the off season we’ll take one night bookings on a Friday night, but rarely on a Saturday night, except possibly January.  Over a Bank Holiday Weekend we only take bookings for a minimum of three nights. The range of prices we advertise represent the spread of prices over the whole year.  From mid week in January to the August Bank Holiday.

 

At Charlotte House we make our charges, per person per night.

 

Rooms are let according to their size.  So, for instance, if the rate is £30 P.P.P.N. a double room, because it takes double persons, costs £60 P.N.  If you want a double room for a single person, it would still cost £60.

For a seven night stay the cost would be from £150 to £200 per person.

Children under sixteen, sharing a room with two adults are charged at a rate of half price. Large babies and small toddlers who don’t require their own bed are charged £3 P.N.

Cancellation of a booking for any reason would result in loss of deposit
