Location
Charlotte House is in Charlotte Street, which is situated between Marine Parade, the A259, sea front road, and Upper St. James’ Street.
The sea front road is just 30 - 50 yds away, at the bottom of our road. Then a couple of flights of stairs will take you down to the esplanade and the beach. St. James’ Street, at the top of our road, has a large variety of all sorts of shops. Including places to eat, from cheep burger bars, up to quite good restaurants. The Old Steine and The Lanes are only a few hundred yards beyond that, all within easy walking distance. So as you can see, we’re well situated for shopping, clubs, pubs, restaurants, theatres, Sea Life Centre, The Royal Pavilion and all sorts of interesting places.
If you want to go to Hove or the far side of Brighton, you might need to take a bus or taxi. The city of Brighton and Hove is a large place after all. While taxis can cost a bit, if you’re going some distance, you’ll be pleased to know that there’s a flat rate of £1.50 per person on the buses. That would take you right across Brighton and Hove and into Shoreham and Southwick if you need to go that far, and that’s a good ten miles.
As for us though as you’ll now understand. Our guest house is well situated for the main, central part of Brighton and the sea front.
